Architecture
I entered architecture seeking to play with the experience of space, with the ability to transform the everyday life through a designed context. Soon this path led me to explore the broader social and environmental conditions that interplay to produce both the actual space, and a metaphor, a story about this space. Today, I am driven to understand, how everyday life designs the city we breathe and imagine, and how this city assists to transform the conditions of its inhabitants.

Installations / Performance Art
The inevitable temptation coming from architecture is to employ installations, sets, theatre, and the ephemeral condition of restaurants and landscapes to engage the experiential. I have been the designer for a range of theatrical representations, outdoor exhibits and interior spaces including:
1995-6 Outdoor installations representing the realm of architecture within the "Cultural Week" of the National Autonomous University of Mexico
1996 member of the Arts Department and curator of "The Kitsch" exhibit at the Universidad Iberoamericana, Mexico City
1995-7 Set design for "Radioranzas 42" touring across Mexico and Venezuela
1995-6 Two restaurants in Mexico City, "Alla en la Fuente" and "La Bodega"
1997 "Presagios" employing over a dozen sets in the historic core of Mexico City
1998-01 artistic advisor for Dancescapes Collective, site-specific performances including Duskdances 2000 Festival
1999 artistic advisor to "Entangled Encounters" Vari Hall, York University, Toronto
2000 design of "River Restaurant" with Ana Francisca de la Mora
2001 Site-specific performance "Inhabiting the In-Between" immersed in a historic warehouse in downtown Toronto
Exhibits
Today, I am interested in producing an exhibit that constitutes an experience in itself. Comprised by a collection of pieces, each one like the fragmented stories that constitute a city, recast singularly by each new observer. Collective exhibits of art-pieces include:
1997 Sociedad de Arquitectos de la Universidad Iberoamericana, Mexico City. Compiled in the publication "Croquis de Arquitectos".
1998 Eleanor Winters Gallery, Toronto
2000 Eco-Art Media Festival, Toronto
2001 Mercer Union, Toronto Individual exhibits of my work have occurred at:
2001 River Restaurant, Toronto
2001 18 Spadina - In tandem with the fFIDA (fringe Festival of independent dance artists) interdisciplinary performance by the Second-Floor-Collective, Toronto
